Emerging Learning Spaces And Quality Of Education

As is known, the distance education model is based, fundamentally, on the materials that contain the knowledge and on the communication channels between the teacher and the student that allow the monitoring of learning. Both elements are closely related to technology because the development achieved by it allows to enhance and expand them, creating new learning spaces.

It is not surprising, therefore, that the application and use of technological advances to the educational world is in a clear process of growth and is establishing itself as a solution to the limitations of the traditional education system, always in the search for higher quality indexes of the different elements involved.

The term quality of education is complex while it is a goal repeatedly raised in the educational policies of all countries. In a first approximation of global character, it can be indicated that the educational quality is closely linked to three essential imperatives:

  • Functionality: Refers to the system satisfying the needs demanded by the environment.
  • Efficiency: Reach the objectives that are proposed.
  • Efficiency: Achieves these objectives with a reasonable cost.

Along with the previous indicators, we must highlight other aspects that, both on the part of our educational authority (Organic Law of Quality of Education, 2000), and by numerous experts in the field, are enunciated as essential elements of presence in quality education, as well as its principles, such as:
Promote equal opportunities.
